ROLE OVERVIEW:
Our Executive Vice President will serve as the leader of our robotic rental subsidiary and industrial service segment. Responsibilities will range from strategy development and divisional management to scaling the business for hyper-growth. This positon will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the parent company with significant interaction with the Chief Executive Officer/Inventor of the technology. The EVP will be well versed in leading a technology driven industrial rental company including a service component with a global operational reach.
We want our EVP to have significant experience in the rental space of technologically advanced equipment preferably in the industrial sector. This experience should provide the knowledge necessary to effectively execute the expansion plan as conveyed by the senior team including the private equity partners. Furthermore, these experiences will allow the incumbent to assess the current team, operating processes, and go to market strategy and drive continuous improvement of each in conjunction with the senior staff. This individual will be a natural leader with deep functional experience who is capable of driving the business. The EVP will have an executive presence and have no reservations about interacting with any level of a potential customer ideally leaning on close ties already established in the industry. Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit is imperative in order to be consistent with the cultural of the organization. Lastly, this individual should bring profit and loss responsibility to the organization to ensure this unit’s profitability expands as the revenue grows.
KEY BUSINESS OBJECTIVES:
Effectively execute and communicate the vision as conveyed by the COO.
STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT
Determine optimal structure of both the rental support team and the robotic cleaning organization, evaluate existing team members, and reorganize/recruit as needed in order to operate a high performance team and support anticipated growth
Develop annual operational strategic plans to further support expansion
Participate in new region partner selection and equipment deployment while expanding penetration in existing markets
Maintain key customer relationships and actively engage with high value prospects
DIVISIONAL MANAGEMENT
Direct report responsibilities include Industrial Operations Manager, Senior Robotics Engineer, and additional team members as deemed necessary
Lead and drive the business with a “safety first” culture and P&L mindset
Collaborate with senior staff in identifying competitive landscape and threats, as well as counter strategies to maintain/grow market share
Implement remote support and repair function to service distant assets in service
Support additional updates to product documentation
SCALING THE BUSINESS FOR HYPER-GROWTH
Develop ROI calculations for investing in additional technology and/or entering new markets
Organize effective manufacturing process (possibly outsourced) capable of significant increases in production
Create aftermarket parts and service department available to support rapid technology distribution
CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
Available for 25%-50% travel, both domestic and international
College degree required – Advanced degree preferred with technical concentration if possible
Minimum 15 years of rental equipment and services experience, with 10 years of business leadership experience, preferably in an industrial setting involving a technological application
Full P&L responsibility and a successful track record of extremely rapid growth in an industrial rental equipment business
Proven track record of consistently exceeding profit expectations while delivering on long term objectives
Experience scaling a rental business rapidly including developing processes, procedures, and documentation required for future growth
Strong strategic management skills and analytical abilities; a data driven mindset in analyzing and assessing opportunities and ability to economically solve issues
Must be a cultural fit with the Company’s existing senior management team; possesses a collaborative, open communication style in dealing across all levels while maintaining impeccable business ethics
International business exposure with experience expanding into new countries
Entrepreneurial mindset with high energy; Hands on style, not a manager of managers
