An Industry-Leading environmental services company is currently seeking a dynamic Director of Industrial Operations to manage their rapidly growing, state-of-the-art Industrial Cleaning Services Division.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Provide overall strategic direction of operations and divisional goals for downstream industrial automated cleaning BU;  develop BU’s policies and procedures; and develop BU’s plans designed to achieve the Company’s objectives.  Direct the activities of Project Managers and Subordinates inclusive of associated resources.  Ensure detailed project budgets, high quality service, and differentiated product supply that meets and exceeds Customer expectations.  Perform/Direct responsibilities and all other associated duties delineated herein either personally or through a team of subordinates for whom Director provides leadership, direction, and motivation.   Report to the Vice President-Specialty Cleaning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGY:

  • Initiate overall strategic direction of operations and divisional goals for startup industrial automated cleaning methods and equipment BU.
  • Secure/generate $2MM within first 12 months with the two operational opportunities already in hand.
  • Grow BU organically and acquisitively.

OPERATIONS:      

  • From scratch, build automated cleaning methods and equipment BU servicing the industrial sector into an organization already servicing offshore and dockside
  • Establish operating guidelines, policies and procedures consistent with Company’s Core Values.
  • Implement systems for operational/project planning and management.
  • Lead internal and external planning of jobs.
  • Excellent delivery of automated tooling cleaning services to industrial sector.
  • Participate in contract award, develop safety operating plans, purchase materials, develop and build project team as required.
  • Establish operating guidelines, policies and procedures consistent with Company’s Core Values.
  • Direct all divisional resources as needed to achieve sales and profit objectives.

GENERAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Business/Financial Leadership of entire BU, including personnel and equipment.
  • Generate timely routine reports to Executive Leadership Team, BOD, Accounting/Finance, and others as required.
  • “Own” $15MM++ P&L, including annual budgets, cap-ex budgets, and detailed project budgeting.
  • Achieve key financial operating results.
  • Perform needs forecasting (people/equipment).
  • Monitor, interpret and forecast project cost ensuring alignment with Company’s anticipated margins.
  • Leadership of diverse team.
  • Prepare regular, timely and accurate invoices for accounting to submit to Customer.
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression.
  • Provide overall management, administration and technical direction for one or more projects simultaneously.
  • Directly supervise lead field personnel, including interviewing, salary determination, and daily management of projects.
  • Establish/maintain clear performance expectations within the operations division, and instill/maintain a disciplined, performance-oriented culture.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:

  • Collaboratively develop/ implement strategies differentiating our Company as the Company­ of Choice (internally & externally).
    • [Partner with Business Development Manager (BDM), Plant Services, and Sr. Mgmt.]
  • Utilize BDM, sales team data, and project pipeline to ensure resources are available for upcoming projects

CORE QUALIFICATIONS: 

Comprehensive experience in a similar role in downstream industrial cleaning coupled with strong business and financial acumen.

  • Sound knowledge of Automated Cleaning Methods and Equipment.
  • 15 years of professional experience to include:
  • 10+ Years’ Experience with downstream industrial cleaning services (refining, chemical, petro-chemical; aboveground storage tanks, coke drums, hydro excavation, confined space entry vessels, high pressure water jetting/blasting, vacuum trucks, robotic and automated tools, spray nozzles, etc.)
  • 5+ Years Operations Management Experience.
  • Strong Operations Leadership.
  • Full P&L for $15MM++, including annual budgets, cap-ex budgets, and detailed project budgeting.
  • 4-year undergraduate degree required
  • Entrepreneurial Orientation
  • Effective decision making capabilities in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Project management and planning abilities in Industrial Services Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations, EPA, DOT, OHSA, and API653 standards (AST’s)
  • Experience training, coaching, and developing hourly and salaried personnel.
  • HazMat, Hazwoper, and CVI certifications are a plus.
