A Multinational O&G Leader is looking for a Labor Relations Manager to join their strong and growing organization.

What will you be doing:

The Labor Relations Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the labor relations activities of the organization. They will analyze and interpret collective bargaining agreements and advise management and union officials in the negotiation and administration of labor relations policies and practices.

Activities will include:

  1. Oversee employee relations, both union and non-union, throughout the organization.
  2. Analyze collective bargaining agreements to interpret the intent, spirit, and terms of contracts.
  3. Represent management in labor contract negotiations to reconcile opposing claims and recommend concessions, or propose adoption of new procedures.
  4. Compile information on disagreements and determine points of issue, according to knowledge of labor, business, and government responsibilities under law.
  5. Manage individual employee relations cases, from incident report through final disposition. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure that all cases are properly documented and will be responsible for issuing complete reports and recommendations to senior management.
  6. Advise management and union officials on the development, application, and interpretation of company labor relations policies and practices.
  7. Arrange schedules and meetings between parties in labor disputes to investigate and resolve grievances.
  8. Monitor the implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions to ensure compliance to labor contract terms.
  9. Supervise work activities of employees involved in labor relations functions of organization.
  10. Complete statistical reports on cases, findings, and resolved issues.
  11. Support the objective of other employee services teams such as Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and the Finance Department     
  12. Other projects as assigned by management
 Requirements
 
  • BS Degree, Masters preferred; Labor Relations/Business/ Law/Human Resources or equivalent.
  • 7+ years experience in labor relations;  MUST have experience as first chair negotiator.
  • 10+ years experience in Human Resources in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated and thorough knowledge of principles, practices, regulations and applicable federal and state laws relating to labor relations.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate objectivity, sensitivity and a balanced perspective when resolving labor issues.
  • Strong detail orientation in preparing, analyzing and producing comprehensive reports on labor issues, trends, resolutions and opportunities for improvement.
  • Creative free-thinker capable of introducing non-traditional approaches.
  • Experience with international companies or international experience a plus.
